I was reading about God's wrath this morning and how it is perfect, not like our wrath. In fact the first thing Jesus did when he reached Jerusalem was clean out the house of God from the theives. Which got me to thinking, when did God's wrath first appear. If you read the account Adam and Eve immediatly after the first sin, they felt ashamed of their nakedness. No one told them they were naked, not God, nor Satan, but they immediatly understood it as shame. When God came to be with them, they hid themsleves from Him. He asked them what happened, then in his wrath rebuked and cursed Satan. But something amazing happened to Adam and Eve, God Himself killed an animal in order to create clothes for Adam and Eve and cover their nakedness so they would no longer be shamed. The animal sacrificed it's life in order to cover Adam and Eve. Which reminded me of Joseph's vision in Zach 3:3-4 where Christ says to Joshua "See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes." Which brings me to your point. Just as the first animal was killed, sacrificed it's life to cover Adam and Eve, Jesus sacrficed His life so that our sin could be covered and our shame hidden. Now we can be in the presence of God without shame because we are covered by Jesus, He truly is everything to us. Chris you are bang on that we need Jesus, not just in part but fully.
